And the Bride Wore...Converse!

I have had yet another opportunity to work with a wonderful couple. October 16, Matt and I headed out to Murfreesboro to do a hotel wedding for Cassie and Ben. This wedding had been booked through our fantastic friend Stefanie Shaw from Exceptional Weddings and Events (http://www.exceptionalweddingsandevents.com/) . When I arrived the bridal party was just beginning to prepare for the big day ahead! There was hair to curl, dresses to don, and pictures to take! There were beautiful surroundings outside of the hotel complete with fall trees, weeping willows, and a pond. The cool air and blue sky added a bit of autumn beauty to the day. Not that the couple needed anything to make their wedding interesting and unique! The bride wore a white wedding dress and....well, converse!

On a beautiful fall day in October, Matt and I got the opportunity to do some photographs for a fellow teacher. I love love love to be able to help teachers out in any way possible! She came with fun photography ideas, and a happy attitude. Being a prepared couple, we had hours to do photographs prior to the wedding. This resulted in many beautiful shots of the decor, family, friends, and the landscape. I shot the first half of the day, and the ceremony. Matt captured the reception.

The fall leaves were in the background, as the bride rode up to the ceremony in a carriage. The baskets of flowers hanging next to the aisle added a special touch. I have no doubt that these two will have a long, happy marriage.

The Martins

About a month ago I had the opportunity to do some wedding photography for Melissa and Johnny. Their wedding and reception was held in Dickson, TN. They were two of the most laid back people that one could imagine for a bride and groom. You could also tell how much this couple actually loves each other. I brought a second shooter with me that day, Amanda Cooper, and we had a wonderful time. The church was absolutely beautiful, as was the entire bridal party! The groom and groomsmen may have had tough exteriors, but you could see their true happiness and kind spirit on this day. P.S. - I've never seen a bride get ready so fast in my life! I wish them nothing but the best!

I also recently had the opportunity to take photographs at the beautiful Brentwood home of Ashley & Lance's grandmother. They had an amazingly beautiful outdoor ceremony next to the running creek and a hand-built arch. The lovely yellow dresses of the bridesmaids only reflected the sunny and joyous feeling of their day! I am happy to have been a part of this beautiful wedding!

Scott & Bethany's Wedding June 5, 2010

We were happy to spend the day with Bethany and Scott for their wedding day. Matt brought his sound set-up and was the dj (http://www.simplyperfectsound.com/) for the reception. I was the main photographer for the entire day. It is always great to meet a couple before the wedding and then be there for their special day. It always feels like friends are getting married, and not like a lot of work!

We have never seen a happier bride and groom than this couple. Their wedding party was a JOY to work with, as were they. The spiritual and uplifting nature of their wedding and reception definitely set this one apart. We had tons of fun, and took LOADS of beautiful photos! Bethany's Bridal Portaits

It has been a while since I have posted on my blog, so I figured today would be a great day to start. Two days ago, I had the joy of working with Bethany to help her create some beautiful bridal portaits to cherish forever. We met in the afternoon at Centennial Park in downtown Nashville, TN. Her mother and sister were there to offer help, support, and ideas. Bethany had lots of ideas of her own to input, which is always a great addition to the shoot! Thanks Andrew for sending Bethany and Scott our way. We are looking forward to working on their wedding on June 5th.

Centennial Park is almost always buzzing with photographers and Saturday was no exception. We saw at LEAST three women in wedding dresses, not counting our bride! There was a wedding at the front of the parthenon and a wedding in the garden. There is a lake, weeping willows, flowers, and nature galore. Centennial Park is a perfect place to grab some natural photos! With various backgrounds to work with, and the beauty God created outdoors, you can't go wrong. (unless its raining : )
